Dr. Sawyer grew up in the Atlanta, GA area.  Following graduation from Emory University in 2000, he attended the Medical College of Georgia for dental school.  After dental school, he practiced as a general dentist for five years before completing a 2 year residency in endodontics at the Medical College of Georgia.  

While Dr. Sawyer is not originally from Louisiana, his family has a long history in the area. His grandmother grew up in Newelton, LA while his grandfather is from Natchitoches.  His mother grew up in Franklin, LA and she and his father graduated from LSU.  He is married to Amy Smith Sawyer, who grew up in Covington and currently has her own practice, Sawyer Orthodontics. They have three young boys: Brody, Harrison, and Parker.

Dr. Sawyer is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Hinman Dental Society.  He has successfully completed Part I of the Endodontic National Board Exam making him a board eligible member of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Sawyer enjoys spending time with is wife and three boys, watching college football, playing tennis, and fishing.
